20 2/4"X 17"
This print is inspired by the iconic print, "The Sleep of Reason Produces Monsters" by Goya in his Los Caprichos series. The epigraph for this print continues on to say: united with her [art], she is the mother of the arts and the origin of their marvels. This print represents the marbillas, or marvels, represented when art and reason are united. The images are brighter, happier, and more whimsical in a lighter fashion than the Goya print. The block itself is in a wonderful shape, mimicking a bird's wing, or the deer head from the print.
